Photographer/art director

I was alliene Photograher she new what she wanted and how she wanted it shot i believe i gave er what she was looking for i didnot make to many suggestions because her idea was clear to me and i new what direction she wanted to go in so i think our session went well and it move quickly a copule of the shots where dull so we decided to add some gels to give it some color and that just changed the whole feel of the shots
On being Art director i enjoy being the art diretor i belive i got my ideas across i belive i kept it simple for my photograher to understand my idea for my layout if i was to use it as a spread it would be a full spead with happiness 101 written on the back wall in my photo
Jeff Wall

The flooded Grave compared to Poppies in a graden i love both of these because there both showing some form of life but in two totally different settings the flooded grave is more dark and foggy very depressing but life is growing and contuineing even in a grave on the other hand the poppies in a graden setting is sunny and bright with lots of greens and bright colors like pinks and whites ver bright and happy feeling but very congested and the same time with so much plant life growing all over very wild unlike the flooded grave everything is conformed to the grave everything is within this grave the colors are more muted compared to the poppies in the graden. However you still get this kind of creepy quality towards the poppies more than the grave because the poppies just seem to happy like it has secrets with in all that greenage.

shot of the week march 28
I choose this photo as my shot of the week because i love the lighting i used on it. the lighting i use was a spot light with a orange gel it gave the toy,a look of a shadowy appearance almost and it helps tones down the bight green and purple colors of the car and it made think something was on fire close to the car and it was giving it a orange glow.
happiness idea
my idea for the happiness 101 is a composite photograph of a class room with sitting students but instead of the students heads there replace with big yellow smiley faces.
my second idea is a testimony of sorts with a portrait shot of someone but once again replace there actual face with a smiley face and have what happiness 101 has do for them written on the bottom.

First Prize

I love this photo of the cat it looks incredible the background colors are unbelievable the cat itself looks like its posing almost. The lighting once again is amazing it also plays important part of this shot . The dark hues plays well with the light, the way it is shot gives a look that makes it seems fake like it was composited. Because everything looks so perfectly place even down to the rocks on the ground.

Best shot
karl blossfeld

Karl Blossfeld stuff is really cool from the icons all his stuff look completely out of this world. One moment you think it's one thing but when you click to look at a larger version it turns out to be something totally different and common like a brunch or flower vine.He shot these images very well all of them gave the appearance of another object. I loved the one I choose, The Laserwort it reminds me of snow flakes. Also the way it was shot made it seam as if it was a pattern not a fertilizing cluster i would have never guess, and now that i know what it is i still don't believe it. The angle and the lighting looks like it played a big put in this shot especially for him to had get all the fine detail with in the cluster it is brilliant.

yousef karsh

I chose this photo of Martha Graham because I like the way the brighter part of the light seemed focused more on her face then her body which is in more of a spotlight lighting which gives it a shadow like appearance almost. As if she is two different people being put together. The position of the lights gives her a more softer look and also help makes her face more angler like its not flat almost as if it is a 3d image it seems like you can touch her face. The mood of this photo seems to be soft movement its as if she moving almost dramatically but soft.

Entry 1

I chose this photo because it gave me the feeling of suspend motion but still maintain the main person of the photo without loosing her in the chaos of the background. Of course in her pose she is demanding to be the center of attention. however the picture is not the best quality because it was taken with my cell phone which I love it takes pretty good pictures but not photo finishes but still i think it a great photo.
